Random Pics

I've been meaning to post some of these for a while...a picture of my car, since my friend Mike detailed the outside to make it look brand new (he felt sorry for the long drive it had down the Alcan), me and my friend JR at the Cowboys stadium watching a high school play-off game, a random shot of me in my car...just wanted you to see these, I guess...I love looking at people's pics on their blogs and myspaces, so enjoy!

Thanksgiving in Arizona

For Thanksgiving I got the privilege to spend it with two of my favorite people...my Grandma and Papa! My parents bought me a ticket to fly over to Arizona for the week to spend the holiday with my grandparents in Casa Grande. They spend the winters in Val Vista RV Resort, which my cousin commonly refers to as the "Old Folks Paradise". I hope that by some of these pictures you can begin to see why. The above sign I gave them as a housewarming gift, as they just bought and moved into a park model at Val Vista. We got a chance to make lots of memories this last week, from cooking with Grandma, Bingo, Gila River Casino, Swap Meet, shopping, eating at buffets, playing card games, hanging out with their friends in the park, laying in the sun and swimming in the pool...it was good stuff. We had record-breaking tempatures in the mid-80's all week, so that was amazing. I loved all of the cactus, they were so cool to look at across the desert floor. They just stood there, as Papa said, like soldiers, straight up. And a lot of them were really big, like in this picture of Grandma and Papa at the Casa Grande Ruins. Many of the cactus are over 100 years old. Crazy, huh? Okay, enough about cactus. On Thanksgiving Day, we got up and watched the parade, then we had our Thanksgiving meal at the Golden Corral with some friends, the food was delicious! My Grandma had cooked a turkey right before I got there, so we ate on that all week long...we love the left-overs the best anyway! It was such a sweet time to spend with my family.

Girls Night Sleep Over

Last Friday night I invited all the girls from the Campus Team I lead to a girls night at our house. Dori was gracious enough to have 8 girls come take over the house with me...I'm so blessed to live with someone who loves youth! Our night was full of games, making and decorating cookies, doing each others hair, and hanging out. I love spending time with the girls! Here is a picture of Kira (with the quilt) and Moe (in the black hoodie) who fell asleep first, as the rest of us were playing Clue. The pictures below are of some of us making cookies. It didn't work as easy as I had planned, but the cookies ended up turning out pretty good and there was some creative decorating going on. I'm so blessed by the girls in my team (Kira, Moe, Kellie, Caroline, Jenny, Anna, Katherine and our honorary member Marissa-who's actually a part of another team, but loves to hang out with us) and I am enjoying getting to be a part of their lives as I'm down here in Texas. We've done a lot of stuff together this year, from football games to movies to shopping to camping, but this was definately one of the best times together so far! Love you, girls!

Bloom!

This Saturday was an annual event that Fellowship puts on for the 6th-12th grade students and the woman who love them (mothers, grandmothers, youth leaders, etc.)...it's called Bloom. I had the pleasure of taking a small group of girls from the student ministry with me this year. We had an amazing time together! Half of the fun was dressing up, which we decided that we would all wear black and I bought us matching pink scarves. The Bloom colors are pink and black, so we were definately in the theme. You know me and themes! We were blessed by an array of different gifted female speakers from Fellowship, who spoke about everything from fashion to sex to manners to seeing yourself through God's eyes...it was good stuff. The girls loved it and so did I. We got to end the conference praying over all the girls, which was a definate highlight for me! The pictures are of most of us, although we are missing a few, before the event. From left to right we have Marissa, me, Jenny, Moe and Kellie...aren't they cute! Today a bunch of us skipped out of church at Grapevine and went to the downtown campus in Dallas. The church is much smaller, with a younger population and such a great artsy feel to the building...I loved it! I'm definately going to do that more often. I really enjoy downtown Dallas and am realizing that I need to hang out down there to really take advantage of the city life.
